Germander (Chamaedrys) (Teucrium chamaedrys) is a herb used in the North African & Amazigh Medicine tradition to help with Digestive Issues, Liver Support, Fever, and Wound Healing. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Teucrium chamaedrys, the wall germander, is a species of ornamental plant native to Mediterranean region of Europe and North Africa, and to the Middle East as far east as Iran. It was historically used as a medicinal herb for the treatment of gout and sometimes as a component of Venice treacle.

  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Germander (Chamaedrys) in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
