Rosa (Donggwi) (Rosa multiflora) is a herb used in the Korean Traditional Medicine tradition to help with Stress, Liver Support, Digestive Issues, and Skin Health. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Rosa multiflora (syn. Rosa polyantha) is a species of rose known commonly as multiflora rose, baby rose, Japanese rose, many-flowered rose, seven-sisters rose, and Eijitsu rose. It is native to eastern Asia, in China, Japan and Korea. It should not be confused with Rosa rugosa, which is also known as "Japanese rose", or with polyantha roses which are garden cultivars derived from hybrids of R. multiflora.

1–3 cups daily
  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Rosa (Donggwi) in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

20–40 drops in water, 2–3× daily
  • Pack dried Rosa (Donggwi) into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
  • Strain and store in a dark dropper bottle.

500 mg – 1 g, 1–3× daily
  • Grind dried Rosa (Donggwi) into a fine powder.
