Perandai (Veldt Grape) (Cissus quadrangularis) is a herb used in the Siddha Medicine tradition to help with Bone Health, Fracture Healing, Arthritis, and Digestive Issues. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

Cissus quadrangularis is a perennial plant of the grape family. It is also known as veld grape, devil's backbone, adamant creeper, asthisamharaka, hadjod and pirandai.

  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Perandai (Veldt Grape) in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

  • Pack dried Perandai (Veldt Grape) into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
