Chirata (Swertia) (Swertia chirata) is a herb used in the Ayurveda tradition to help with Fever, Liver Support, Malaria, and Diabetes. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

Swertia is a genus in the gentian family containing plants sometimes referred to as the felworts. Some species bear very showy purple and blue flowers. Many members of this genus have medicinal and cultural purposes.
