🔮Shipibo & Upper Amazonian Shamanism

Acai (Juansoco)

Euterpe oleracea

About Acai (Juansoco)

Acai (Juansoco) (Euterpe oleracea) is a herb used in the Shipibo & Upper Amazonian Shamanism tradition to help with Antioxidant, Heart Health, Energy, and Brain Health, among 1 other condition it addresses. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

The açaí palm (Portuguese: (listen), from Tupi-Guarani asaí), Euterpe oleracea, is a species of palm tree (Arecaceae) cultivated for its fruit (açaí berries, or simply açaí), hearts of palm (a vegetable), leaves, and trunk wood. Global demand for the fruit expanded rapidly in the 21st century and so the tree is cultivated for that purpose primarily.

Quality tips

When buying Acai (Juansoco), look for: certified organic labelling, clearly stated country of origin, third-party lab testing for heavy metals and pesticides, and a batch expiry date. Standardised extracts offer consistent dosing; bulk dried herbs are more economical for regular use. Avoid very cheap, unlabelled products — quality varies enormously.
